Craig Kiggen completed his articles to become a Chartered Accountant in 1997, He has a BCom degree and a Post Grad. Financial Planning,  In 2003 and 2004, he was nominated as being in the top six financial planners in South Africa and in 2005 he was awarded the runner-up position in the competition.  In 2006 he was awarded the title of Financial Planner of the Year by the Financial Planning Institute and Personal Finance.

He opened Craig Kiggen & Associates, an independent fee based Financial Planning company in 2001 after being very disillusioned with the Commission driven sales models.  In the latter part of 2006 Consolidated came into being after the merger of two leading financial planning and benefit consulting businesses: At the time of merging the accumulated years of existence totalled sixteen years.  Through this merge the business created fully established offices in Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, a staff complement of 48, and assets under management of R1,8 Billion.

Craig has been a committee member on the KZN chapter of FPI for five years, heading up the Financial Planning function, and speaker co-ordination.  He has presented papers around the country for various organisations and has appeared on National Radio as guest.  Craig writes for many of the financial journals on Personal Financial Planning topics but has a particular passion to see the industry change from a “cottage style” business to that of a professionally run financial services business, which is not dependant on any one individual.

He is married to Michelle and they have two sons Christopher (six) and Michael (three and a half years old).  Craig is a keen beach volleyball player and mountain biker who enjoys a relaxed round of golf when occasion allows.   Most of all Craig enjoys spending time with his family.
